Having run into a fellow collector wandering the market here in Rome, I showed him this nickled version, which got me more curious. The silver color is a plating but appears to be under the enamel? Does anybody have a comment on these silvery versions of the award? I'm fairly convinced the award itself is legit, it is the silvering I'm wondering about.

At a minimum, the nut looks good. At first glance I liked the badge, but I don't like the fact that there is no " ' " about the last backwards "N" in the first word of "otlichniy", various features of the central red disk and lettering, and the soldering on the back. It could be good, but for reasons stated I'm suspicious.
