That is a nice real Artillery one although I'm unsure it is an original screwplate.

The Artillery Badge is probably the most common but it is also faked - not this time!

The Anti Aircraft Defence is however a modern fake.

Thanks for your help CtahhR! well, 2 originals, 4 fakes, just left the firefighters and the scouts badges, not a good balance at the moment (at least price was low).

Hi,
I would appreciate some opinions on this item.
Looks like a original submariner badge. But i´m no expert... i could be wrong.
I was wondering if i´m right and from which period (is this a ww2 period item?)

These are all being sold as copies, but the nuts appear to be very good copies of nuts on period items. I ASSUME the nuts are fake if the whole badge is being sold as a copy....anybody else see these fakes come up and can comment on the nuts? I find the submarine nut particularly troubling because it is very close to the common nut found on guards badges as well.

Here are more being sold as copies and here again, the last MTX one is troubling as it looks very close to period nuts that appear on several items including guards badges.
You will have to inspect nuts very carefully even if the badge is good it seems. Does anybody have a high res picture of these fakes straight on? The nuts that is.

The nuts still all appear cast and not stamped. Until forgers jump to that rather expensive step, look for "flash" and muted details resulting from the casting. Moreover these all lack wear, patina, and minute enamel cracking that only come from years of existence.
