Paul,
Do you plan to write a book with research on HSU stars (with the complete citation from the Armed Forces archives and not only the citation from the Hero Encyclopedia)? It could be an interesting complement to Echoes Of War.

That would be a fascinating book that wouldn't require all that much of a monetary outlay to do... Maybe 200-300 citations, from the early years, Finnish War, WW2, post-War, Afghanistan, etc. It would just be quite the undertaking to translate all of those! :wow

Echoes Of War: Researching Soviet Military Decorations, By Paul J. Schmitt
This sounds like a GREAT idea. I do understand the translation problembut, with the right people doing the translations...Who knows.

My Rozhdeny, Chtob Skazku Sdelat Bylju (can't translate)
Bob, It does not need to be a dream. Write it! The ownership power of this forum (so to say) is awesome: how about - one 'manager' - Art, Paul, Alexei, Dave - lots of names - anybody with experience and desire to become responsible for a project, with the owners of individual awards contributing their scans, research, descriptions, measurements, interesting stories, all this put together in a series of books - Mongolian Awards, East European Awards, New Russian Stuff And Why Would Anyone Bother, Fakes and How to Recognise Them - sold at a reasonable price to the rest of the world (but at a discount to the beginners ;)), proceeds shared in proportion to the amount of bookspace. After all, we spend more time reading and writing here ( I certainly do) then it would take to put up a publishable write-up. Sergei.
