Tal is right, the reverse is most important to determine if it is genuine.

The front of the medallion looks OK to me; ring was obviously repaired; link is no original; a bigger hole was drilled in the suspension to accept the thicker replacement link.

The lenin prize number 3249 (see post number 30 in this thread) was offered for sale on ebay for about 6 months. As of today, there is ONE bid - still the starting price of US $2,395.00 .

It comes with the large diploma. (a COMPLETE set for the Lenin prize includes the medal, a small box for it, Large and small diplomas, and a large box containing all the above. Sometimes the notice of awarding the prize and an invitation to the ceremony could be obtain).
