There is nothing to think about such Cavalier didn't exist. That means hte group is made up. If you look at order book it's more than obvious.

I agree with Eugene.
The easiest way to check - just look in The Cavaliers of Glory Orders book, the name isn't listed in the book. Plus, the entries obviously have been added to the order book... Vlad |

Usually I am very suspicious to the documents with blurred entries and especially to those documents where some entries are blurred and others are clear. Therefore, I would guess the guy did not have Patrioitic war and smth else instead, and he never had Glory 1 and Lenin order.

Colleagues,
please take a look at this ID for the Glory set. What mekes me suspicious - the fact that Glories entries are made with Arab numeral instead of Roman ones: Glory 3rd class and Glory 2nd class instead of Glory III class and Glory II class. I've never seen stamps with Arab numerals. Is this a warning sign? Thank you, William |

William,
You are right, usually it's Roman numerals. Still I don't think that this by itself would be a major warning sign, but I also have a "bad feeling about the group". I think most of all I don't like the hand writting, which is similar to what I have seen in some other fake documents. This group needs to be researched, but if you do have it researched be sure to check number of the awards document with that from the research. Alexei |

Thank you, Alexei!
Here's bottom part of the docs page. What do you think? Thanks, William Last edited by CtahhR; 08-11-2014 at 10:43 AM. |

William,
Hand writting looks a bit shaky... I don;t like it. The latest trend in the faking industry is to errase all the information in a genuine award document and put new entries. So far I have no idea how they do it without damaging the paper or background, but I am working on it. Alexei |

correct me if I'm wrong, but the writting in "script" makes me think to the 80' style. Old docs have often neat writting: even in France our grandfathers have the same neat style learnt in all world schools of the 30'.....
The photo looks brand new, but the document too: seen from my computer, without the cloth cover felt in my hands, I'd think it could be a re-impression with a quality offset: no tears to the paper, no wearing, no traces nor moisture, the paper is not yellowish like some old ones...
