I think so as well. Much of the 50s era stuff usually was screwback. And, the pin attachment looks very crude, kinda homemade. But I don't see any signs of a screwthread base, that's the only thing throwing me off.

A l'origine la fixation de ces badges sont comme sur ceux de la photo du revers .
Le badge d'Alfred a subit une réparation soit parce que l'attache c'est cassée ou tout simplement parce que le titulaire du badge l'a remplacé par une épingle pour assurer une meilleure stabilité (ces badges ont tendance à tourner sur eux même sur un uniforme).

Translation:
"The original fastening for these badges is as seen on the picture of the reverse side.
Alfred's (Andreas!) badge was repaired either because the screw broke, or because the recipient decided to replace the screw by a pin for better fastening (these badges tend to spin around on a uniform)"
