Re: WWII Infantery Uniform set

If the right pocket have no hidden inside pocket gymnasterka could be wartime.
Sidecap looks postwar to me.

Re: WWII Infantery Uniform set

I like your pull over, cap & belt. I have period epaulets with the rubberized straps (have one set that looks like they were cut from inner tubes.)
The coat, on the other hand, is a prettied up Dutch Army over coat. MvO is the Dutch ministry of War and this was manufactured in Delft, Holland. Sorry. Can't even make a case for lend lease as Holland was already occupied by germany well before 1943 (model epaulets)
M.v.O (Ministerie van Oorlog) means Department of War. In 1959 it became the M.v.D.(Ministerie van Defensie), the Department of Defence. So at least it is an older overcoat.

Re: WWII Infantery Uniform set

It seems to me that the gymnasterka is made from US made "mustard" wool. I have heard that many uniform items were made from the massive stocks of this and other Lend-Lease materials well into late 1940X thru early 1950X. Also, unissued specimens are STILL coming out of old Soviet military stores even to this day...

I do like the shoulderboards - not necessarily wartime, but early.

IMO, that is...

that is exactly what i was saying about the stamp.

for mater of fact this kinda coat was used during the 50's right after the war until the beginning of the 70's in a slightly differend pattern by than.

i never realized how much soviet they are a like.

Re: WWII Infantery Uniform set

Thank you very much! I think the secret about the coat is solved. It makes sense, because the seller told me that he got the coat not together with the other lot items.

What's your opinion about the shoulder boards of the coat?
