Numbers it self does not efect early or late award. In early days 1944-1953 there was everything in order and orders were given out from 0-0000.In periode after that you could get in sixties number like 14523 or 125436 and in late seventies 10654 or 45637.So there is no logical explanation for that, why hapened that.I have few docs whit early dates and high numbers and late dates whit low numbers.

Dejan,
Does this apparent illogical S/N order (should I say disorder) applies to all the other Yugoslavian Orders? I mean, can we find lower S/Ns on more recent pieces and higher S/Ns on older pieces?! Also, if I get it right, screwback type Orders are always older than pinback ones? And for those who have torches, those with 5 torches are always older than those with 6 torches? Thanks, Dolf Last edited by Dolf; 11-12-2005 at 01:36 PM. |

As you said illogical but true you can find older award docs whit higher serials No. or late award docs whit lower serial No.
Also screwback orders are early types and five torches are also early types. You can also find old type order in new type box.If there was demand for any type of order and they did not have stocks they just combinied one whit another. That did not hapened regulary but from time to time. Orden of Merit for People
Hello. I'm new on this portal and I'm glad that I find this Yugoslavian forum section. This orden was given to my grandmother:
http://www.racunalniske-novice.com/g...nak1.sized.jpg http://www.racunalniske-novice.com/g...nak2.sized.jpg As you can see on the pics it's third class. I'd like to know what's the class of this orden: http://www.bolha.com/images/image/_437ba9846cd43.jpg It's all black only the central figure is gilded. I never seen this kind of it before. Is it second class? Maybe all the colour went down but it looks so fresh and new to me. Thanks for your informations... Last edited by Explorer; 12-23-2005 at 03:40 PM. |

Explorer,
Welcome to the Forum and our little but growing Yugoslavian section. What you have there is a Order for Merit 3rd class. It's a nice piece made from silver at the Zagreb Mint. There are also pieces that were made at the Novchanitsa factory that were not silver. Is it possible to see the full serial number? Thanks and welcome! Rusty.

As you can see on the screw Ikom Zagreb is the maker of mine. What about the other "black" one with the box? You saying that one was made in Novchanitsa factory? Here's the extra pic, you need to rotate it a lil bit. http://www.racunalniske-novice.com/g...znak.sized.jpg The number is: 170546 Can youtell me anything about the number? Cheers, Explorer. |

Very nice piece--and clearly of wonderful significance to you. Thanks for sharing. :) BTW, the pictures are huge and detailed--what did you shoot them with?
On the subject of Yugo awards--Rusty--it looks like you have started quite the yugo collection. When you get a chance, it would be cool to see some pics of the whole collection together... |

Hi Explorer
In ex Yugoslavija there was two different mints which make orders. One was in Zagreb-IKOM (which make order you own) and second was in Belgrade-ZIN (zavod za izradu novcanica). Regards Dejan |
