Admiral and officer caps

Do you have any tip or pictures than show the different caps from different periods? I understand that some of the caps has a higher crown etc.

Some tips in general are ...

- Material used (cloth, metals)
- Manufacturers stamp and sweat shield design
- Year stamps on buttons (indicative rather than definite, since older "overstock" buttons may have been used on new productions.
- Shape and size
- Comparison with regulations and period photos, reference books and historical books.
- Quality of insignias, embroideries and overall craftsmanship
- Get different opinions

with all due respect to you, I'd be really eager to see a 1970-80ies cap with the kind of badge you speak about.
My only admiral visor cap with a bronze badge is a 1960ies brand. With specific color and thickness leather, specific embrodery, all typical details of the 1960ies... And after 1969, never saw any brozne badge...
I can't honestly be a reference, but I was convinced by a good amount of 1980ies visor cap I saw with a real patina, wear traces, all traces of authenticity ... all coming with this aluminium badge. And I don't speak of those brand-new embrodery and huge crown caps done after 1992. I speak about worn caps, with all "normal" traces of wear and use.
From this side of Atlantic could we be all wrong?

I believe we lack some serious photographic documentation about this very point.

The embroided Navy officer's cap badge with aluminium cocarde isn't original because such a cap badges were issued only with brass cocardes. There were also whole brass cap badges same time but they also have complicated center and enamel star. Then the offircer's cap badge was replaced to whole aluminium type. But most officers ordered privatly embroided badges and add to aluminium central part. Such a badge could not be considered original because it wasn't existed in documents or official producion.
I can assume that admiral's cap badge producion guides were changes to aluminium, but don't think it was. As former Soviet Navy officer I've never seen an admiral with such a cap badge.
But if somebody can show me the document about changes in admiral cap badges producion guide I'll agree with.
