Tal,
Copies #3 are made in Moscow by my jeweller when he is sober. They are quite nice, but probably the worst on the market. Here are more detailed scans: The Mezhnumismatica box is from a set of Soviet coins. Alexei Last edited by CtahhR; 06-19-2013 at 07:34 PM. |

Order "Victory"
From set of copies - Order "Victory" there is no precisely (under the image) repeating the original. I would like to show the present image of an award. This picture is exposed by Hermitage.
I do translation with http://www.hermitage.ru/html_Ru/03/hm3_7_3e.html Order "Victory" Platinum, gold, silver, brilliants, enamel, corundum’s Order "Victory" – maximum award for military leader, an award founded during Great Patriotic war by November 8, 1943. With this award was awarded 17 men, from them 5 - foreigners. Three men were awarded with an award twice. The names awarded by this award are brought on a special memorial board established in Large Kremlin Palace. It is a sole Soviet award, which was produced not on a Monetary yard, and was made in the jewelry workshop. http://www.hermitage.ru/html_Ru/03/hm3_7_3.html The basic part of awards and medals USSR was sent from Monetary yard, since 1930 years. A set of awards is shown in initial samples and variants. The special interesting group is represented awards founded during Great Patriotic war and among them a order Victory, made by a jeweler way and received a museum in 1985 to 40-year of a Victory. Last large updating of collection became the complete set of the current awards of Russia in quantity 101 pieces. |

The Hermitage Museum site is well done. They also offer an English version here. This is the English version of the Order of Victory page shown above:

Martin,
very quickly (if you have not found the info), King Mihai's Order of Victory was the only one that was sold into a private collection through Sotheby's some years ago. Try to search this site and you will find a thread with a much bigger source of information. Eric

Back in 1993-1994, a US dealer had a copy Order of Victory at a show. I took a look at it and it was absolutely breathtaking. I've seen about 10-12 fake Victories, and those literally look like dirt compared to this one that the fellow had. He was asking $5000 for it at the time. I don't know what the acutal precious metal/stone content was, but I would probably say that a good portion of it was either real, or very close look-alike. I just wish I had a photo of it...

Thanks, it has found a good home.
I have seen similar patches, but much smaller and not near as nice. It is the closest I will get to having the real thing, although I did get a chance to look at real one in Moscow. Nothing like the real thing. Quote:
