Trio of "Gratitude" certificates.
Here's a trio of "Gratitude"s for Junior Sergeant Shalva Sergeevich Mesropov, which I picked up at the marketplace here. Mesropov was also awarded a "For Courage" medal and possibly more but I only have these three documents in my possession.
The first document is for service in the Caucasus from January 1943, The second for the Taman Peninsula dated October 1943 and finally from 11th April 1944 (The actual day of liberation of the city), Kerch. |

Here is a 21st November 1945 dated gratitude certificate for participation in the Great Patriotic War named to Senior Sergeant Georgij Malakovich Majsuradze
And here's what the Russian State Archive website told me for free. Shame that there's another split group out there...... Here is the citation for his Medal "For Bravery". I'm not so good with the Russian handwriting so to sum it up 27th September 1943 at the battle for Farm "Dzheginskij" he destroyed the enemy bunker. No doubt this farm was somewhere close to or on the Taman Peninsula.

No, these were certificates awarded to individuals who took part in the various campaigns indicated on them. They could indicate that someone was probably awarded a medal for a certain battle, but they don't have any direct correlation to medals. Dave |

Odd little Invitation?
I found 4 or five of these tucked into an order book in a medal set I have. Has anyone seen such a thing before and know for sure what it is?
