dagger
No, not 100% sure, just remember an image ofa similar general with the dagger and belt ( though it could have been air force). My little orange book is in the attic, so if you find out for sure 100% let us know.
Otherwise Doc, it would look good on display with a dagger : ) DougD Moderator |

I still have no access to m74 regs, but in 88 they say nothing about it and show no pictures of generals or officers with it, however in par. 152(page 64) they say, that in the Soviet Army daggers are to be worn under a special order during parades in Moscow, Leningrad, republic capitals and hero cities.
So - they existed, but were rarely used. But they don't say what it should look like. So I was wrong, since basically only Navy officers had daggers. |

That is definitely a 1970~80's service uniform. Can you please post some pics of your parade uniform. Here are pics from the M69 regulation books; no dagger :D Marc Last edited by CtahhR; 03-09-2013 at 03:52 PM. |

uniform
Doc,
as i stated to you in post #2, you are showing a service uniform, not parade (parade would be the wave blue with the collar and cuff embroidery, etc.). The full subdued would be a field uniform. so, if thats the only uniform you were asking about, then 100% no dagger. Get a nice leather belt with cross strap and map/document case, that would work well for display. DougD Moderator |

Nothing to be confused about here. As Doug said, parade uniforms are wave-green with gold embroidery on the collar and at the cuffs (see the illustrations I posted from the regulation book). Service uniforms are brown-green colored with gold embroidery on the lapels. Field (or combat) uniforms are also brown-green colored with green thread embroideries on the collar. It looks like someone was not fully honest with you about what they sold you  Marc |

Medical Service Major General's Uniform
Doug & Marc,
Thank You for your help!!! I'm still very happy with them (being Medical Service). I'll add the belt and map case. Soviet uniforms are a new arena for me. I have a LOT to learn!!! :thumbsup:thumbsup Doc |

Due to the space restrictions for private messages, I do unfortunately not have the correspondence left, but if there would be any discomfort with the items due to any mistake made by me, I am very willing to take them back, thanks. Last edited by Tretov; 12-08-2007 at 10:15 PM. Reason: Spelling |

Boy did those take a roundabout trip!
I think I recognize that tunic. If so, from my closet, to New Jersey, to Finland, and back to Texas in less than 6 months.
