I like that Imperial bar a lot.
They display well with their younger brethren. Methinks I need a few. (your picture attached and brightened for clarity) And the RBL display is great as well!

These were props from "Hunt for Red October". I love the hollywood interpretation of the 5 sided suspension and the artistic pairing of ribbons with orders. At least this way I have my suspension Kutuzov (sort of) and that Order of Glory second class I've been looking for...sort of. By the way, up close both Comrade Stalin and Comrade Lenin look like they wandered off the set of Jekyll & Hyde while still in Hyde mode.
I'm still learning how to wrassle with the digital cameras, scanners, and photoshop sort of programs when diddling file size. Didn't think to try and brighten as was tickled to get down to 49.9 kb file size. Last edited by CtahhR; 06-09-2014 at 02:15 PM. |

In Photoshop left-click "File" and then click "save for web"; there's a sliding scale there that you can adjust to get the less-than 50 kb size that's required here. Resize to 800 pix first though.

They are now
I got them with a really nice Hunt for Red October press kit which I unfortunately gave to my brother (a big fan of the movie) for Christmas a few years ago. Why unfortunate? He lives in New Orleans...you know the rest. Fortunately he doesn't care for soviet orders so I still have these on my wall. Watching the movie closely, there are door guards all decked out at the Kremlin when the Admirals are trying to figure out what to do about Connery.

Glad you like 'em
It's always been interesting to me how many fans there are of that movie. Maybe coming out on the cusp of the dissolution of the Soviet Union caused it resonate more. I'm a fan, too. My favorite scene is the complete adulation that Dr. Tim Curry shows when he thinks Sir Sean is going to heroically scuttle the ship to avoid capture.

I have to admit it is a favorite of mine as well. Its probably the only movie with Alec Baldwin I like, aside from Team America of course

"You'll receive the Order Of Lenin for this, Sir." Curry was great in that movie. Heck, the whole cast was good. I'm a Joss Acklund fan as well. But Curry, talk about outta left field....how'd he get cast as a Soviet doctor?
