Re: Selling on eBay

My friends
I am on eBay for more than 10 years
It has nothing to do with eBay or other ways to sell or buy.
There are honest and dishonest people in this world
Fortunately, there are more honest people
Regarding eBay.
eBay roles are excellent for buyers - 100% protection, if you know and follow the roles
eBay roles for sellers - not bad, but can be improved.
This is my personal opinion and experience.

Re: Selling on eBay

Plus, as a seller you cannot warn other sellers, since you cannot leave feedback if you have opened an unpaid item case:
Quote:
Sorry, it's not possible to leave feedback for this transaction. Feedback has been disabled because payment was not recorded.
Ridiculous.

And finally, eBay says that they record the unpaid item on the buyer's account, but that's not visible to other sellers and buyers, just eBay staff, so that's effectively useless...

Re: Selling on eBay

Auke,

I'm sorry to learn of your eBay headaches. Have you thought of advertising your items as not being for sale to buyers from select countries? I recently saw a listing that excluded buyers from Indonesia, Pakistan and Hawaii - an odd combination to say the least. Good luck in your efforts.

Regards,

Re: Selling on eBay

I had thoughts about selling some of my extra medals on E. However after learning about how much ebay and paypal tax, I decided to keep them. Maybe one day I will sell them face to face or maybe I will try the marketplace here... E is probably only good if you want to sell stuff very fast.
By the way, I saw many of your items on E. I placed bids on a couple of medals, but unfortunately I lost

Re: Selling on eBay

I have the same experiences as Auke has, although less worse. In a other thread about fake orders of glories, I asked a question about ebayers from the Baltic states. Sure, I'm wise anough to never buy from them, but how do you protect your sellings? Everything above €100 will be send int. signed for when I'm selling it. But still, paypal demands more than a signature.... As somebody said before, you can't leave negative feedback to a seller. So how recognize them?
Anyway, I've sold many items on ebay but I always have problems with people from the Baltic states. Either buying, or selling... My advice: keep away from them as far as possible!

I may be wrong but I don't believe there are many former Soviet Baltic folk here....

Auke,

Im really sorry that this happened to you. Even more though that it was someone in our circle who did it.

I hope whoever it is rectifies the situation and redeems themselves even the slightest bit.

I will admit to being one of the fortunate collectors to have benefited from your recent liquidation both in our Marketplace and "that auction site", ahem. . . I am very sorry to hear of your misfortunes.

Re: Selling on eBay

hello all

I have used ebay for many years both as a seller and a buyer. I have set my setting to reduce any problem buyers such as a certain amount of feedback, non payment and also I don't sell to china or Russia as always issues there. I also don't buy from those countries. Ebay can be great but you need to manage your account to reduce any problems and exposure and always send items reg and signed for

Re: Selling on eBay

Art, just wondering if you have considered a better system of feedback for sales on the forum ?

The current feedback system doesnt really show us of any "trades gone wrong" so to speak. I have no doubt that most trades go fine (if they didnt their would be complaints everywhere ), but it would be good to see some better honest feedback on sales and trades.

The iTrader addon for VBulletin has been around for a long time and I have used it for many years on my forum and it has been a great asset.
iTrader

Clicking on a members feedback score immediately shows up all their transactions and the feedback left for them.
