Re: DPRK Prices "How Much To Pay"
I have sought for quite a long time, but the only things I find are the same items from the same two dealers who are definitely not selling their items by wholesale quantities. The rest are 1) other Chinese dealers selling overpriced crap who focus on numismatics and watch pieces and 2) Soviet and Bulgarian militaria dealers selling documented Soviet-made awards to foreigners for big cash. I´d really love to see what you say, but by just getting two awards for a bit more than the prices you listed (and that´s because I was lucky enough, unlike the 95% of DPRK stuff auctions I bid in) I can´t do more than to have hope that some day that will become true. :(

Re: DPRK Prices "How Much To Pay"
Not even where can we find those items?
They´re not on Ebay, I can assure you.:(

Re: DPRK Prices "How Much To Pay"
I wish I knew a good way to store them!
Many dealers located in China do handle DPRK items in the thousands. The best deals to be had are "out of sight" as to maintain a monopoly and retard the crash in prices. DPRK items available for sale are constantly being refreshed. It's not the same handful of items going round and round. I am personally sitting on over 1000 DPRK items now and continue to add to the collection for prices under those indicated. I picked up yet another 20 Chongryon Medal today. I'll photograph them side by side so there's solid evidence that it is no longer an obscure Medal. There are more than enough DPRK awards for everyone who could even nearly be interested.

The "I have sources and you don't (tee hee)" attitude doesn't get us (as a community) anywhere positive. If you have (or have access to) these large stashes, get some, post some on the marketplace at your capitalisic markup, and let the starving huddled masses make you rich(er). Others play this game. If you sense frustration, well done! Last edited by medals73; 03-19-2012 at 06:03 PM. |

Another example of how "extremely rare" DPRK items are.
Just a selection of items being filtered into the collection. Price list updated. One year on. Many prices reduced even halved none increased. I have not valued anything at under $1 but that is being very generous to a fair percentage of the lower end items. The unforeseen events in December/January heavily affected the supply and items poured out of Korea in torrents. A supply which has by absolutely no means dried up. Many items are not worth purchasing as single items but as bulk lots due to the cost of postage being considerably more than the value of the item. It can also be noted that due to the lack of DPRK items being an "investment commodity" as may have been previously speculated, the constant flow of items easily filling the "I'll take one of everything" collectors' collections, some lifting of the veil of mystery through this very forum and absolute, complete inability to research any item in any way, the trade in DPRK awards holds far less "general" appeal than during previous years.
