Hunting Red HSU
Any idea (or regulatory reason) why his multiple HSUs don't appear on his uniform ?

Leonid must have had wearer copies made specially for him, but how many? not enough to be given to the IWM it seem. I don't see traces of holes...

I don't know...
I would be suspect of this unifom that it was gotten from a house worker, etc.
Anyway, the other correction is that by the end of the war he was nopt a colonel but made a major general and wore a VP generals uniform to the Victory Parade. DD |

Brezhnev uniforms ?
Good points, Doug.
Who knows if there are other Brezhnev uniforms on display (where, in which museums, etc...) ? Does anyone know where to find a comprehensive list ? Ch. |

Hi Doug and you all, what worries me with this uniform (altough the IWM is for me a GREAT reference) is the visor cap: the band is very tall, the badge doesn't touch the upper tip of the band like in the huge majority of photos I've seen-make me think to 90' non soviet visor cap with huge band and crown (it's for me a warning light) (for ref, I only got a xerox of yazov, p361 of kutsenko's "marshall and admirals...)"
From that distance , embroidery looks correct... Anotehr detail: they changed his BK3 ribbon for a nevski one! I don't like put doubts about such an institution like the IWM.. can anybody scan the good classic pic of Illitch (Kutsenko p.61)?

comparing photos, the set seems a bit low compared to the lappels, the ribbons are by rows of 6 instead of 5 on officials portraits and the order of foreign ribbons is not the same.
