GeoKeith, if you want to have an idea of what your BK1 can be worth, have a look at the "known-to-be-expensive" NJ seller site. He has one currently offered for $140,000 and the serial number is much higher than yours + yours is authentified!

Into the Bank Vault it went... I guess that I can't display these orders any longer...The other valuable pieces are going into the bank vault as well...

That's also what I think about your items... but that is far from being my case.

When a single small piece of metal is worth half the price of a house, it's more than time to hide it in a safe place. You should buy a decent copy for $100-200 and display this copy while your real order is sleeping at the bank.

Actually, I already have copies of my key pieces, very good jewelers' copies, and I have substituted them into my displays. I also have a couple of such items that act as 'filler' for spaces in my military orders displays that I will never be able to acquire myself, such as an Order of Nakhimov 1st Class, An Ushakov 1st Class, and a Suvorov 1st Class. The Nakhimov 1st Class, which is arguably the most eye-pleasing of the Soviet military orders from the WWll era, was last publicly traded at $US 175,000 about two years ago. The price today must be heady indeed...

Anyone seen any BOGDAN KHMELNITSKY 3rd class for sale lately? I was curious what the going rate for these are right now as I haven't seen any in a while. The NJ dealer has a 2nd and 1st class for sale but obviously these are going for a pretty penny.

I haven't seen an OBK 3rd in a while but if I do, I will come back here and let you know. Obviously, I look for these :chuckle but at this time, I'm not in the market for any.
