Re: Soviet Medal Ribbon Bar Owner Identification
It must also be of note that if someone got such high war period awards they would have most probably been awarded a few non-Soviet awards that would almost be part of their bar. I would also expect them to have served for longer than 3 years before the outbreak of war (Long Service 1st Class indicates the earliest service date of 1938 otherwise it would have been a Red Banner for 20 years service) to be getting the higher end awards.

Re: Soviet Medal Ribbon Bar Owner Identification
A high ranking guy would not have such a sloppily mounted ribbon bar.
Here are some examples of properly mounted ones. http://soviet-awards.com/forum/sovie...recedence.html

Re: Ribbons, Ribbon Bars And Order Of Precedence.
Hi gents, here are a few more from my collection. I may be one of a few people who seeks them out, I love these though! They tell a great story and are little works of art too.
First--just a Bravery and two Combat Service Medals. I like how simple it is and what it represents. |

Second--three Combat Service Medals!
The recipient was a Frontovik, judging by the VOG and Vienna medals. Likely a staff officer, and someone who stayed in the army post-war (judging by the 15 and 20 year long service medals) Looks cool with the three CSMs. :thumbsup |

Really beautifully made, slightly curved for comfortable wear.
The recipient was awarded Order of Patriotic War 1st and 2nd Classes, Order of Red Star, and Odessa and Caucasus medals. |

Re: Ribbons, Ribbon Bars And Order Of Precedence.
Possibly a Partisan!
Red Star, Glory, Bravery Medal, Partisan 1st Class (Or Leningrad?), VOG, Berlin medal. Just a combat set, no long service awards. :thumbsup I am leaning towards this being a Partisan medal due to the extra ribbon that seems to represent the Belarus Partisan badge, on the lowest level. |

Re: Ribbons, Ribbon Bars And Order Of Precedence.
Kind of a curiosity: the recipient has both Leningrad and Stalingrad campaign medals but no Victory over Germany medal--instead he/she has The Valiant Labor in Great Patriotic War medal. So not a Frontovic--Factory worker? Any ideas welcome.

Re: Ribbons, Ribbon Bars And Order Of Precedence.
Seems a strange mix. I'd go Nurse. They certainly needed nurses in both those situations and I don't think a factory worker would move from the frying pan into the fire. More likely from the frying pan to the freezer (other side of the Urals).
I really enjoy these plastic bars but they aren't always easy to store. There can be some really strange combinations. Medical personnel can have some really strange selections.
