For Service to Motherland 3rd Class
Guys,
This is the same Order I recently posted on the Fakes Alert section. Anyway, I received it yesterday and as I don't think it's a fake I'm posting my own scans here. This is that unknown Type (Type 3 ?) with four lines on the reverse of the bottom ray. Apparently my scan of that detail is not as good as the previously posted pic, anyway here are a few scans. Dolf,
Great to see pics of such a rare variation (only the second one, is that right?) Enjoy it!

Matt,
Pics posted at your request :) What you mean by only the 2nd one?! This one and the other one from the Home page of the Forum? I have not the slightest idea of how many there are but it never crossed my mind that only these two have been observed! I'm pretty sure there are many more out there! I know at least of another member/Moderator of the Forum who have one of these, but I'm not sure if the pic on the Home page is of his own piece! If not it makes three of them already. Anyone else would have one of these on it's collection, or would at least have observed other pieces of this Type ( 3 ? ) ? Dolf |

So that's either 2 or 3 that we're aware of. I'm of course no expert on this variation, so there could be more of them known. I hope someone could chime in on it.
No doubt people having one might not know about it since it is a rather obscure variational detail...

Matt,
Well, now that it has been mentioned I hope that those members who have a 3rd Class OSM will check the reverse of the bottom ray, looking for those four lines... Let's wait and see! Dolf |

Hi,
i'm posting pic's of order i received this weekend. Pictures are made with digital camera and because of that not very good, but order has four lines on the bottom ray. Nice low serial number also. Recipient of the order was a officer who was soviet air forces pilot and he received this order in East Germany, back in 1975. This is what i know so far... Order was and will stay in Estonia. Regards, Lauri |

Lauri,
I have one in the 23,xxx range and it's interesting to note that both awards have the star a bit off center to the left. Rusty.

Here's another interesting variation - four pointed star has clearly defined lines on the reverse. S/n is 2733. According to Avers-6 this variation was observed in the 1113-1155 and 2195-229 range.
