I don't see many threads on these, so thought I might try and generate some renewed interest in the topic.
Prices have went down and are now ??? coming back up ??? Here's a recent one I acquired; 3rd Class Soviet made "Mondvor" w/ser# 8975. Anyone else want to show their pieces? Tim |

Re: Partisan Stars
Those stars are gorgeous.
Partisans everywere are considered somewat second class fighters. I instead think that the strategical power to subtract opponent soldiers from the main battlefront play a decisive role in the win of the war. May you please pm me if you know where may i buy one? Thank you |

Re: Partisan Stars
Hello,
I am very sorry that I have not checked this thread out earlier and gotten back to you. These stars are made by both Soviet and Yugoslavian makers. I'll post some more PIC's of both versions and you can decide which way to go from there. I currently only have the 3rd class in my collection, but they are considerably cheaper than the 2nd or 1st class awards as actual awarded numbers were quite low. Award Numbers: 1st Class - 627 2nd Class - 1531 3rd Class - 10384 Tim |

Re: Partisan Stars
Each class was different in construction - the 1st class was in gold with a laurel wreath, the second class is in silver with a laurel wreath and the ones shown are 3rd class. I dont have any relating images to share as I dont have any of the classes - they are very nice awards thought! :thumbsup

Here's a couple of images of some Partisan Stars I obtained about 12 years ago. Interesting that they came complete with documents. I was told both were issued to Soviet citizen sounding names. Who knows?

Wow! Those aren't often seen (the docs). Good snag, Gerry

The Monetny dvor made Orders of the partisan star 3. class are sold from 60$ to 250$ here in EX - Yugoslavia, it depends on the serial number, and if it's boxed or documented. A full set should be about 250$, while an ordinary piece without doc or box should cost you no more than 60 to 70$.
I've never seen or heard about any fakes of these 3. classes. The market is overflown with originals anyway. 10 000 3. classes were awarded, but there were at least 20 000 soviet made, and unnisued pieces are still beeing found in large batches... Also there are not that many people collecting this stuff. I've seen a few fakes of the 1. class but, they were so bad, that they were instantly recognisable. I also saw one suspicious 2. class piece once, but I'm still not sure if it was a fake or just a late, very badly made yugoslav IKOM original. This is my order of the partisan star 3. class sn. 4610 with original case of issue. Unlike the orders itself, the cases are extremly rare. Don't know why though, as there are enough of orders arround. It seems that those cases that were issued were later lost, and the cases of the orders that were kept unissued, had been also thrown away, since there's a lot of unnisued partisan stars 3. class but not a single one has the case. |
