Doesn't the name start with an E?

You're right, Auke! :thumbsup I took a closer look at the stamp, and it is indeed the metro!

See: Транспортный отдел НКГБ-МГБ - Отдел охраны МГБ Московского метрополитена им. Л.М.Кагановича

Отдел охраны МГБ Московского метрополитена им. Л.М.Кагановича
(How would one translate "Отдел охраны"? Security Department? Right idea, but not quite the right words?)

Начальники:
1. ТОЛЧЕЕВ Алексей Федорович (май – 25 ноября 1943 г.), – ГБ, с 11 сентября 1943 г. – полковник ГБ;
2. КУЛИКОВСКИХ Кирилл Григорьевич (7 декабря 1943 – 21 мая 1945 г.), – ГБ;
3. ДАВЫДОВ Федор Андреевич (25 июня 1945 – 5 апреля 1951 г.), – или полковник;
4. СТУПАЧЕНКО Григорий Иванович (5 апреля 1951 – март 1953 г.), – , с августа 1952 г. – – ГБ;

It is amazing how much look you have finding information on the recipients whose awards etc are now in your collection. I rarely get off page one.

Doesn't help when you can't even read the name in the first place though.

Here are 3 more names (a single and a pair) that I am really having difficulty pinning down.

Thankful once more for any help.

I do my research :)

If I could figure out the signature/stamp/unit on the second document, I'd have about as complete a picture of this KGB colonel as I think is possible.

For these three names, maybe:
Учралым (is that an m or a ш?)
?
Чалхаажив ?

Not Russian for sure.

Re: Translation Help

First one is probably
Учралын
at least it exists as a Mongolian name (or word?)

Could be, but then the second letter must be a consonant... Not very likely IMHO...

Re: Translation Help

Uchralyn.

The person's name is Uchralyn Dalhaa/Учралын Далхаа unfortunately not Учралын Дамчаа!

Hmm... Well, here's the same fellow's signature on another document. Does this help?

Here are two more signatures in need of translation from the same group. Figuring out these two (plus the first) should do much to reveal the history behind this group. Thanks in advance for the help :thumbsup
