I took advantage of the excellent cool weather and nice clear skies to take as many good, natural lighting photos of as many order and medals as I could before the shadows became too long. The point is, I discovered that my October Revolution and my OFP both had similarly shiny (not quite so new) suspensions. I think it was just a product of the 1980s decorations.:)

However, I still think the OGIII was never issued to a living person because I don't see any evidence of wear. And by the way, what little patina is on it has materialized since I've owned it (about a year) becausse when I got it was in pristine condition (photos as around here somewhere from back then).

Just picked up a Order of Glory 3rd class no. 25,416, apparently awarded to an Uzbek artilleryman on 14th March 1944, for killing 17 enemy soldiers with his mortar battery.
Area of battle Sharovo(?) region on the right bank of Gernits (???) river

Commanding Officr Major General Romanovich 8th Breakthrough Artillery Division.

Problem is I cant locate the 8th Breakthrough Artillery Division

I too can't find it in orders of battle. And there was no general named Romanovich in WW2, are you sure that's his name?

Me neither. I can find the 7th and the 9th BAD but no 8th. The 7th and 9th were in the 3rd Ukrainian Front, BTW.

Recommend you find a reference that provides you with the order of battle for the 5th Artillery Breakthrough Corps - the senior HQ that approved his Glory III.
