It certainly looks like one; however, in this particular case, the suspension is actually as important a piece of evidence as the medal itself. Moreover, the great condition suggests either it was kept well by the recipient (probably only worn once), or somebody just made it. I am hoping for the former.:thumbsup

Hi Gents,

I saw that medal in ebay and I'm interested in that medal but I'm a "newbie" and on the ather hand I don't want to be a paranoid, asking anything for any medal.

Yes and yes, I'm fairly sure. I'm not 100% on variations but it looks pretty clear.

For a so-called "newbie" you have enough studying under your belt to know that there were three variations of this (and many other "mass" medals from this era). I didn't know about differences other than the round and "U"-shaped rings until I started focusing on campaign medals more.:thumbsup

Medals been given to those who haven't receive them during or shortly after the war. It's understandable, war-time, big country, not enough info etc. So this were given to veterans afterwords, from local military administration centres. Those centres called Voennyj Kommisariat (Voenkomat) :cheers
