Three questions here....

Can anyone identify the ribbons that Gagarin is wearing on his service dress uniform in the above photo?

And does anyone know what the neck order and sash order are that he is wearing?

Does anyone know of a list of all of Gagarin's decorations?

Here's a picture of a gentleman in an ambassador uniform that I met at the 1996 Victory Day parade in Moscow. He never mentioned that he had served as an ambassador.... I believe his uniform was from his stint as the Director of the Diplomatic Academy. He had made numerous trips abroad during the Cold War, teaching at univerisities (he proudly claimed that his 'books could be found in most American university libraries!)

His medals were certainly cool... He had been too young to serve in the Army during WW2, so he served as a Partisan, and wore a Partisan 2nd Class medal, along with his Jubilee GPW2, Lenin, Friendship of Nations, and Honor Order. Quite an impressive guy!!!

Here is a scan of an original photo I had of a diplomat in Addis Abbaba Ethiopia in 1945. Notice the very rare Diplomatic dress dagger.

This photo of a tank or artillery general at the June 1945 ?Victory Parade? shows him wearing the uniform with the carry along saber. There was a separate saber belt worn under the tunic made or either leather or the same silver material as the dress belt.

This Lt. general wears an interesting non-Soviet neck order (Yugoslav?) along with a great number of red army awards.

This Lt.General, in this studio portrait, wears his M1943 with cap but without any awards! Note the rare two-piece M1940 generals cap badge. The early 1940 ones were made in this two part fashion before quickly turning over to the one piece style.

This major general wears the M1943 uniform in its semi-formal style; no belt, and gray straight legged trousers instead of the blue parade breeches.Note that he wears one pre and post red banner.
