Re: Medal "For The Defence Of The Caucasus".
Impossible to say definitively since numbering was done at the unit level, but I believe it is of more recent manufacture...

Re: Medal "For The Defence Of The Caucasus".
Here is probably the most pleasant to handle Soviet Campaign Medal I have yet encountered. The recipient had coated the ribbon in plastic (which has now perished) and has lovingly looked after the metal. All original with two piece Kolodka.
K#012381 awarded to "Red Army Soldier" (Although not in the Red Army) Konstantin Gavrilovich Adamov by the Commander of the 8th Moto-Rifle Regiment Of Internal Troops Of The NKVD on 4th October 1944.

Re: Medal "For The Defence Of The Caucasus".
A bit of poking about reveals his wartime exploits.
Awarded a Medal "For Combat Merits" and OPW2'85. The Medal was a late 1945 proposal for a wound in the first days of the war. Tbilisi was exceptionally slow processing these wound awards (often 2-5 years!) Red Army Soldier Adamov was seriously wounded defending the Railway station at Hristinovka as a driver of 3rd Platoon, 2nd Rifle Company, 5th Armoured Tank Battalion, 30th Armoured Tank Regiment, 15th Division, 12th Army on 30th July 1941. When he had recovered, although non-partisan became a member of the Destroyer Anti-Tank Battalion of the 8th Moto-Rifle Regiment of the NKVD.
