I was also able to get some of the design boards for the 1943 generals rank.

the first, for a colonel general of artillery, was very close to the final design.

I am glad people enjoy seeing them. although i know of only very few others, i do know of a guy who has some original design artwork and drawings; i'll try to get my hands on those next.

I was just going back and looking at this post again. The more I surf through it the more impressed I am by it. The breadth of boards in your collection Doug is just amazing, simply amazing. I think that would be one of those one of a kind collections; tough to upgrade that!

By looking at the pictures I am surprised how many different variations they actually produced. I would have thought there would have been fewer actually produced then what you posted. Anyway thanks for sharing these with everyone. Without your post I would never had the chance to see any of these. Thanks Clete

Thanks Clete; there are more out there, but not many. most were kept by my friend who then sold them to me; i sold a few to a collector in sweden, but have kept the rest...i like it because its a unique and interesting collection, but it fits in 2 baskets under my bed. Here is a shot of all of them together.
