Gents,

A lot of interest in this one. We'll have to see where it ends up.

Order of Glory Awarded After WW2?

I do have a question... was this award ever presented to reward deeds that took place after World War 2?

Re: Glory.

There is a long argument about that somewhere in this thread. I think i remember reading about a couple for Hungary & Vietnam. It's on this site somewhere...

Re: Glory.

If you read through this thread you can find some reference to Glories awarded for post War Against Japan actions. Talk of awards for the Korean War (but no evidence) etc. It must also be noted that awards for actions in Korea in 1945 and for 1950-3 are completely different in nature.

The VAST majority of post 1945 awarded Glories were for wartime wounds.

Glory 1st

Gents,

Currently available on the well-known auction site for a BIN asking price of $11,000.00. Before you rush off to log on to your PayPal account, however, note that this is an unissued example. How it got out of the mint is an entirely different matter...

Re: Glory.

Dear Comrades,
I'm having a hard time to classify this Slava-2 I just bought.

Per Mondvor, this s/n 17477 should be either type 2 or 3, clock face dependent (currently completely shaved, so I can't tell)
However the still visible double-window under it is of type 4 or 5 (again clock-face dependent).
I would appreciate any help to properly ID this piece.

Gents,

Although it was listed as sold for $11,000.00 on November 4th, the deal must have gone sour as it's been relisted and now includes a "Best Offer" option.

Can switching to GEICO really save you 15% or more on your auto insurance?
Is there a sucker out there willing to shell out $11,000 for this fake???
If you think this one is bad, you should check a HSU Medal #13719 from Cyprus, offered on that well known auction site, for $9750! They only went up to #11753!!!:laff
