No problem. He looks like the sort the KGB might have used for "wet jobs" (i.e. ones involving killing someone).:(

Yes he was in NKVD since 1939. During the war was head of partisan’s brigade “Storm” in west Byelorussia. Between April and July 1944 his brigade derailed 43 German’s trains. Awarded title Hero of Soviet Union on November 5 1944. After the war for more than 30 years worked in Minsk KGB. Now living in Moscow.

I still need the proper cap (I temporarily use a special troops M55) and a pair of breeches.

BTW, I have noticed that Doug´s M55 lapels are somewhat different to mine. Note the angle of the black velvet lapels: Doug´s uniform ones are not as "open" as mine.
Is this a variation depending on year of production?
I have one of these, almost identical, with cap too. I'll see if I can post some pics up. Oringal medals with it too including a Red Star, Order of the Red Banner, etc.

Might be interested in selling it too if anyone is interested.

Yes, please post it here! Were the medals/ orders and uniform all from the family?

Re: M1955 Uniforms and Insignia!

Hmm... I don't think so, they came with the uniform from a fairly reputable dealer from Russia back in the mid 90s. I suspect (judging from the markings inside the cap) it may have come from a theatre but I'll need to check this. I'll see if I can get the photos up either today or tomorrow.
