Yes - the guys using the infamous "no returns for any reason - policy" are very doubtful...

but in this case I think it would have been worth it to buy the medal.

By the way (if you would like to give us the information): how much was it, or would it have been, if not being sold before ?

In this case, it was sold for 300$ more or less, but now in ebay there is an auction with this medal + document, and I'm afraid that the seller is the same in both cases..

300 $ for only the medal is quite expensive.

With a bit of luck you should find it somewhere for 200 - 250 $

I have noticed that happen several times recently - one seller seems to have an endless supply of the same type of medals, badges, orders, etc. There is one fellow on ePay who keeps coming up with new republican MOOP impeccable service medals each week. And he always seems to have another KGB XV (not the X or XX) every time one sells.:( When you print your own 100 dollar bills, people eventually don't want to accept $100 bills at the cash register.;)

Hi,

they are quite hard to detect, because they are faked very well these days. The best clue you can get about them is to carefully examine the ring; it should be sharp - edged, without cast bubbles and (very important) without cast sand, which is usually left (in small amounts) in the corners of faked service medals. This cast sand mostly is black or white, glittering and consists of very fine chrystals.

I have to disagree with you on that one. IMO, $300 is quite reasonable for this scarce medal.

maybe it depends on the location/ country, where you are about to buy it. I have bought one of them two months ago for 210,- Euro.
