I'll know more as we get closer...
I'll keep this thread updated... How much Soviet stuff is usually there? Will the big guns show? Rusty.

Rusty:
The one time that I attended (it must have been 5 or 6 years ago) the Soviet offerings were the best that I have ever seen in this country in terms of both quantity and quality. There were also more dealers from Europe with good Soviet items than I have seen elsewhere. But that was a while ago and I think that with the expansion of online auctions and other distractions, the Soviet representation might be reduced. That was certainly my impression of the MAX show in Pittsburgh this last September. If you are driving, the location and parking are very convenient and the display facilities are first rate. Actually, it was at the show earlier this year that I really began to appreciate the Soviet orders. I was blown away by the beauty & workmanship of OGPW & Labor Glory....and the prices as compared to the Third Reich items I had collected were amazing!! It seems that there were probably 10 or so dealers who dealt solely in Soviet items but many more who had some Soviet items. I'll sure be looking for more this time around.

Alright...
Time to wake up this monster. Does anyone plan to attend this show? Rusty.

How much of these shows are general militaria and how much is medals? I generally prefer things like OMSA, since at least there is the focus.
And how much do you have to contend with the gun-club, survivalist, Third Reich collector sort? Ed |

SoS
Any one who attends the show will not be disappointed. I have attended the last five shows & now, I wouldn't miss it for the world! Plus, being from Louisville originally, it always provides a good excuse to get back home.
The show is Nazi-heavy but there seems to be more Soviet booths every year. I remember a few years ago, there was only 1 dealer there selling Soviet items. He had hundreds of military daggers for $50.00 each. He was considered an oddball and the daggers were novelties. Many people were walking around, carrying these strange daggers that no one had ever seen before. I have found that Thursday afternoon or Friday are the best days to go. Early on Thursday, dealers are still arrriving & getting set up. Saturday, things are a bit picked over then by Sunday many dealers are leaving. If anyone needs any ideas on what to do or where to stay while in Louisville, feel free to PM me. David Quote:
