This flag was given in 1920 to the CHoN unit that helped take Baku in Azerbajian. CHoN units were special fanatic communist units that took on special missions.
Note the great islamic design on the red star and the arabic writing below the center! Again, this flag is the islamic green. The rear of the CHoN standard. Note the cresent moon and hammer and sickle design. Designs such as this, combining islam and middle eastern motifs along with communist motifs were simply not found after 1922. DD |
