This thread is for posting military awards that are either completely or partially unresearchable. When contributing, please be sure to include the award name, serial number, and how research was attempted (by name or serial number). If any other information can be provided, please include.

Hello,

Please clarify "unresearchable" award. If Soviet Order or Medal has serial number it can be researched with 99.9% from Russian military Archives, i.e. it is possible to find name of awardee, description of the heroic deed, other related information. Of course all this information is paid.

I have just got a ORB, ORS group done and all that could be found was his record card, but no information on the awards.

please find record card. It is interesting that his nationality is stated as "Jew"

At first I was enthusiastic about such a list, but I'm more and more getting the impression that more often than not "unresearchable" says more about the researcher than the archive. I have used five different researchers over the years, and most of them have been able to find documents that others couldn't and the other way around. So several awards that I and one of my researchers considered to be "unresearchable" were researched by another researcher without any problems (and I'm not talking about Navy / MVD / KGB etc. research but simple TsAMO research).

thuis is the first of about ten groups I have had researched by the same person that didnt come up with the award sheet.

maybe you could pm me some one you think could help with the research of the awards

Order for Service to the Homeland in the armed forces of the USSR 3rd class (98116) (3 tries on research by former owner and 1 try by me... unresearcheable at this time. Is issued award.)

No luck in TSAMO for RS 3701678. :confused:

RS 3806751 is :thumbsdown after 2 researchers but trying with a third.

Have one RS, Stalingrad doctor, all research was found but not the citation. Tried another researcher and he found it.

I wonder if these guys just give up too easy.
