Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment
During two and a half months in the enemy rear area, Comrade Charochkin actively participated in combat operations against the German fascists under hazardous conditions, rendering medical assistance in a timely manner to soldiers and commanders, proving himself both a bold and valorous medical officer and dedicated to the Party of Lenin and Stalin and the Socialist Motherland. During the course of three days under exceptionally difficult conditions, he managed to escape the enemy army’s encirclement.
He is deserving of the Order of the Red Star.

Very cool award! Parts of the 33rd Army were surrounded by 4th Panzer Army during the Soviet counteroffensive in front of Moscow. "Exceptionally difficult conditions" is an understatement. The soviets used cavalry, dropped paras, and activated partisan units in the area, so chances are your man fought with all of them. Breaking out in the spring as the lines solidified would be a story in itself. Wonderful award and research!
