Ou, vu nos effectifs, organiser un "changement démocratique" (style Géorgie ou Ukraine) de la langue officielle du site

Ok, not betraying you guys (no CIA, Mossad, KGB or Sécurité spy either ), just a little help for Sergei (because he is a nice fellow) and others no francophone or francophile.

Starting with Soviet in Post #20:

"Hehe, a discussion between francophones only in english"

(because either Manu, from Quebec, and Marc and OKP, both French, were all speaking english between themselves)

Post #21, Manu replies:

"The worst is that you're right! haha"

Post #22, Marc replies:

"Chut (*) The opponent is listening"

(*) Not sure myself if this is how it spells in english, guys correct me if I'm wrong

Then on Post #23, Laurent from Switzerland (also a francophone I suppose) says:

"We should create a "French Thread" on the Forum..."

Finally on Post #24, Marc says:

"Or, given our number, organise a "democratic changing" (king of Georgia or Ukraine style) of the official language of the site"

As you see, nothing serious Sergei, just the beginning of a complot for a future "coup d'état"...

Anyway, back to the topic, did you guys forget la librairie "Histoire et Collections", Av. de la République?
Many years ago it was probably my favorite for militaria books in Paris, and as someone also mentioned books...

"Juste mes 2 centimes"...

Hi to all,

Just coming back from trips and discovering this thread .

About Soviet stuff in Paris :
I agree with all that has been said earlier. No more interesting Soviet pieces to find, and all addresses mentioned here are OVERpriced compared to what we can find on the web or even elsewhere, as in Germany. The fact is that 99% of the sellers / dealers are not specialised in these Soviet things.

Manu,
I have no adress to add to those already mentioned, but can just recommend you to pay a visit to the "Louvre des Antiquaires" (rue de Rivoli, facing the Louvre Museum) : they have a few overpriced very basic Soviet orders and medals, but they mainly have fantastic and extraordinary pieces of all the planet !!!! Of course, it is more for the pleasure of viewing than anything else... But if you visit the Louvre Museum, it is not far. BTW, the Galeries du Palais Royal are close to it, and here are located 3 medal makers. Thay also have nice pieces displayed (don't look at prices!!!! ).

About "Histoire et Collections" :
It has been mentioned earlier, and it is also my favourite bookshop in the domain. But prices, here, are so high for imported books... It is worthwile for french ones.

About speaking French in the Forum :
Why not ?

Not yet, not yet!
But if I were you, I'd probably hang on to that French Language Manual for a bit longer
