Soviet United Nations Peacekeepers
What did their uniforms look like?

For some reason I want to say this photo depicts a group of Russian "peacekeepers" sent to Moldova, not under UN auspices or control. I could be wrong, though.

I recall a picture of Soviet officers attached (or formally attached) to a United Nations mission of some sort--they wore their normal officer's uniforms, with the trademark western-style light blue berets with metal United Nations badges on them in the place of a visor cap.
I suppose it might depend on the regulations of the peacekeeping mission itself--the presence of national insignia on the field uniform, etc.

i am not sure about peacekeepers, but i have an observer to the UN uniform that it is a warm weather version. a rather cool patch on it (symbol of the UN with a hammer and sickle superimposed on the world) but yeah, not sure if that would be a peace keeping officers uniform as well (this has a rank of Lt. colonel)

I found a Russian advisor one. I always thought the red patch saying RUSSIA in English was worn for Peacekeeping missions? Or is that a fantasy item?
