Taking of Prague

Here is the document for Prague. I believe the document itself to be genuine, I have a question mark as to the entries, although the dates and stamps seem to be fine. My problem here is that this document has a serial number higher by only 20 from a known fake I posted earlier (to a general who supposedly participated in every single campaign the Red Army undertook).

The document looks genuine and I believe actually filled out in 1975. It could have just as easily been filled out yesterday if someone had the actual stamps, but we'll never know. There is little incentive for a faker to do this since people prefer WWII-era docs. A faker could also do this to complete or inflate a post-war set. Neither of these reasons seems viable in your case.

It is much easier to spot a postwar document like this as filled in by someone trying to deceive when they use WWII-era stamps or put a 1940's date on a document printed in the 1970s.

So, here are the pictures of the Prague medal. There are only a few very light scratches on the front and reverse of the medal (wearing traces?).

The quality of the medal is high but the medal is casted and not struck with a die.

Ribbon and suspension are not soviet production. Under the ribbon on the reverse of the suspension is a marker mark.

regards
Andreas

Yes please, would be interesting to check if it is the same as shown in Mondvor (the sign of the Czech enterprise Zahradnik), as the suspensions shown by Andreas looks far more recent.

Cheers.

Document for Liberation of Prague Medal, issued on November 13th, 1945 to Guards Lt. Colonel Nikolai Abramov. It shows the stamp of the 23rd Guards Fighter Air Division, and is hand-signed by the division commander, Hero of the Soviet Union Guards Colonel Pavel Kryukov.

Close-up of the signature. . .
