I am sorry to leave an negative comment, but 9. may is no victory day in Latvia, where I live. It was beginning of second soviet occupation witch lasted until 1991. Yes the Russian minority still celebrate Victory day in Riga, I understand the veterans, but they wont let our Latvian German army veterans celebrate they remembrance day in 16. march. I don't say that Russian veterans cant celebrate the 9. may, but I am certanly against such thing as "Latvian Russian March" witch will happen today, this can provoke riots and its no secret that 13. January riot this year in Riga was because of Russian provocation.
This is my point of view of so called victory day. Please don't call me nazi I am nationalist and I am sorry if hurt somebodys feelings. And please find time to watch movie "Soviet Story" its the best documentary depicting Stalinist crimes. |

Guys, lets let this drop...why anyone is a member is up to them and what views they hold is also up to them. Let's get this thread back to some more great images of the parades.
On a related note, a few days ago General Valentin Varennikov died...not to discuss his career in detail, perhaps the most interesting aspect was that he was one of the Red Army men who carried the captured Nazi unit flags and threw them down a the foot of Lenin's tomb at the original Victory Parade in 1945.
