Document for Non-Black Soil Region medal is indeed the rerest document. It's often missing even in the most advanced collections. I am not sure if it's worth the asking price, but it's definitely not a $10 document. William Last edited by new world; 07-14-2004 at 10:00 PM. |

It's a very rare document but I wouldn't say the rarest. It's among "West Siberia..", "Military Cooperation", "100 years of Lenin" and "30 years of Victory" for foreigners. However, the starting bid is well over the real market price. But who knows nowadays.

rare docs
If this document is so rare for a medal given out in 1977 and there were 25,000 of them.
Would not the doc for the medal for saving a drowning person even be more rare and more valuable?? Quote:

The same time I personally saw a couple dozen docs "for saving a drowning person" and just a couple "For the Reclamation of the Non-Black Soil". Maybe, it's just my case. Anyway, the market price should be 2-3 times less than Ebay price. |

Re: Medal "For Transforming The "Non-Black Earth"".
Gents,
I have a very silly question. But one that i want to ask to make sure i'm correct. This medal for Transforming the Non-black Earth, was awarded to agriculture workers for 3 years work on the Non-Black Earth of the RSFSR. Here comes the stupid part! Does this just mean, any area of the RSFSR that wasn't in the "Central Black Earth Region"? Ie the small (in comparisson) area near the Ukranian border? Many thanks, Tom |

Re: Medal "For Transforming The "Non-Black Earth"".
It was basically for working on agricultural land that did not have Chernozemic soil, trying to make the land more fertile and productive. With higher demands for produce less productive land was forced to produce greater yields.
There was recovery of land as well as throwing chemicals at the problem and various other techniques. There were varying levels of success. Work on the "Black Earth" will have been treated with the usual array of labour awards. The "non-Black Earth" workers also got this in the bargain.

Thought so, but it's always best to check.
