Vladimir Ivanovich Popov, date of Order Book July 7th, 1947 with privileges from October 1st, 1945.

For which Order/Medal was this conferred? Just wondering because there are 11 pages on podvig naroda for Vladimir Ivanovich Popov.

You're welcome. It seems he was awarded an Order of the Red Star, #1769781, a Combat Service Medal, #2674076, and another Order of the Red Star, #3027239, the latter probably for long-service. If you have any additional identifying information, such as date of birth, or other documents, i.e. Victory over Germany, campaign medal documents, and so forth, it may aid in obtaining documents from the archive.

If he wasn't awarded any of the awards until post-war I would suggest he was a non-combat officer that got a Red Star for solid service during the war (or a feat against Japan - seeing he was awarded September 1945), the later pair for 10 and 15 years service which would make it difficult but not impossible to find on "the site".

There are approximately 128 possibilities listed at the archive. All 128+ entries would have to be reviewed, and, obviously those having a late war awarded & specific combination of an Order of the Red Star and Combat Service Medal could possibly be your man, and perhaps not, time consuming process notwithstanding. The long-service Order of the Red Star would not, of course, be listed in the archive, but I think the most expedient solution would be to contact a researcher, I have a specific recommendation in mind, and simply obtain the Award Card, an inexpensive proposition. Once the Award Card is obtained, the Prikaz & Citation, if listed, can be obtained from the archive.
