Radio-Telephonist, Management Department, 1st Battery, Red Army Soldier Bakaev, Mamatkul Isamovich for that during the battle for the river Purplevo, when a German Ferdinand had a direct hit in the area of the vehicle, where the radio station was, Comrade Bakaev under enemy Rifle-Machinegun fire, got from the burning vehicle the radio station and brought it from the battlefield.

1918 year of birth, non-partisan, Tajik, called to the RKKA by Dzhizak Regional Military Commissariat, Samarkand Oblast.

I think it says "der Purplevo", which suggests a short from "derevnya". So it's rather village than river.

I have no idea why I wrote river as I know this is a tiny settlement in Belarus. One of those days I think....
