Re: Victory over Germany in the WW2 document
Very nice Eric:thumbsup. These documents don't seem to come up that often.
I also have one - for a colonel at the Voroshilov Higher Military Academy. Wish mine was for a frontovik like yours. Does anyone know how many of this version were issued? Simon |

Victory over Germany Medal RED COVER document
I have only seen six of these and would be interested to see if any of our forum members have more information or examples.
Three of the six are ones I've seen on the web. The one on ÎÐÄÅÍÀ È ÌÅÄÀËÈ ÑÑÑÐ with a serial number of #72.940 awarded 18 JUN 45, in addition to two others on the four-letter international auction site. The three in my collection are: 1. #13.592 dated 18 JUN 45 and awarded by the composite 3 Ukrainian Front regiment that actually marched in the Victory Parade on 24 JUN 45 (pictured here) 2. #12.114 dated 21 JUN 45 and 3. #33.773 dated 19 JUN 45. I first heard these red-covered docs were only awarded to Victory Parade recipients, but #1 is the only one I've seen actually awarded to a Parade participant. Additionally #2 and #3 were awarded by Red Army organizations within the capital so the Parade-recipient rumor can't be true. If there is more participation or interest, maybe we could pin this as a reference thread similar to the Bravery Medal "ring" versus "tongue" suspension attachment. |

Re: Victory over Germany Medal RED COVER document
In the interim, some not very good scans.
Part of the larger group to Major Vladimir Fedorovich Dubrovin. Guess I haven't put it up here? |

Re: Victory over Germany Medal RED COVER document
Thanks! Nice one. He probably didn't directly participate in the parade, but was probably directly involved in issuing the awards and selecting the personnel in the 1 Belorussian regiment.

Re: Victory over Germany document
Interesting! Isn't the serial number usually on page two? Maybe it got flipped over at the print shop? And I've never seen a giant asterix like that before.

Re: Victory over Germany document
Eric,
The document is OK. There are many variation of the VoG booklet and all of them have the SN on the back cover. Marc |
