Some details with the soldier and sailor seem a little off.

Like Andreas says, bigger pictures would be nice :).

Does the measurement fit perfectly with other authentic Odessas? (we are talking down to the tenth of the millimetre)

There are cast Medals produced in the Baltic states (specifically Latvia) that don't seem to be cast immediately. Whatever additional processes they now use adds to the illusion that it is real. As more collectors realise the fakery the fakers have to do a better and better job.

Gone are the days of fakes being produced crudely out of the wrong alloys with large rims and heavily distorted features.

some more pics of the Polar Region medal. 1st two were taken with a flash.

it has a vertical cast(?) line at the top of the obverse. does this mean it's a fake? thank you

Hi,

this is a genuine medal; the coining stamp just had a break before it was replaced with the next one.

This variation is familiar within the collector`s family and I also have one in my collection.
