I tend to like them. But better pictures would not hurt.

Re: Fake Preservation of Public Order Medals

I trust the seller as a member of this forum, but I have to seek the opinion of others on this medal because it drives me crazy and I have great difficulty being entirely sure about the authenticity of these.

The lettering usually gives them away, but it appears perfect, with only the straightest lines and crispest letters.

I know these photos are not ideal for judging, but I also know some of you can spot fakes of these even with bad photos.;)

Re: Fake Preservation of Public Order Medals

I know it must be the last version (nickel plated) and that's all I'm sure about.

One other thing I've noticed about many of these medals is the "CCCP" at the bottom of the reverse. There is often a slight color and/or texture difference from the rest of medal. Like I've said, I see it often, but never asked anyone about it before.

None, really. The textures are all there and the lettering is perfect even under the microscope. But since I've always had a slight phobia about detecting fakes of these and the last type of border guard medals (nickel-plated). I guess I just need reassurance.:)

I am curious about the difference in color at the bottom of the medal (on both sides) like someone was holding it with two fingers as they applied the nickel - even though I know that isn't the way it was done.
