Fake Jubilee & Anniversary Medals

This medal is an obvious fake: shape of the ring, enamel, bumps on the rays, poorly defined edge, lack of details on the reverse (grass, soldier, etc).

Most likely a cast fake; I even doubt if it is struck in silver, from the look of it.

I am very disappointed !
But was the first time that i saw this medal , and the desire to posses it won over the good sense !!
In fact there where a lot of evidence !!
The next time i will be more wise.

You can clearly see the traces of the erased inscription.

The seller, however, states : "RARE Soviet Russian USSR medal: 40th Anniversary Victory in GPW - FOREIGN Variaton"

Well, I guess it was a matter of time. I assume we will see the same with 100th anniversary of V.I. Lenin and the 30th anniversary of Victory.

I saw that and thought to myself "am I seeing what I think I'm seeing?"
I can understand the whys and hows of it, I just don't get why they did such a half-assed job of it. I wonder how many will fall for that?

Unfortunately, all three medals for foreigners are very commonly faked.
