How to best get rid of collection - ebay, or a show or two?
So, I'm going to sell most of the USSR stuff I've got. A few things are gone already, sold through various channels. The problem is that probably 75% of the stuff I have is M69 uniforms/gear/etc. Should I sell this stuff on ebay, or get a table at a show, or other? Anyone here sell end-of-the-era stuff at shows or on ebay?

I'd say eBay.
I've never sold at shows but I'd guess you'd have to pay, probably a lot, to get a table at the show. And then I'd guess that either really low-end (read cheap) or really high-end stuff would sell better. And I guess that selling individually usuually reaps higher rewards than selling as a group/lot. That's why so many groups get broken up. Find a guy willing to take the whole bundle (Patrik) and avoid the hassle of eBay. Or consign it.

You could always sell through a REAL auction. I have just sent a lot of non-Soviet medals off to FJP (German stuff), but for Soviet, I'd think "Medal House" (is that its name, in Helsinki?).
That seems the best way to do things? |

Thanks for the thoughts, gents. I guess I'll try to sell some of the smaller stuff in lots on ebay and see what I can do.
BTW - Tretov - I emailed you. |

Yes, why don't you give this forum a chance first.

Hi Alexei - long time no see
Well, I tried selling stuff on the forum last year, and it went ok, but I was going to try something else. I am keeping a few uniforms and a most of my medals (not that there are a lot of them), but most of what I accumulated is low-end stuff. I've still got a fair amount of stuff that I posted f/s here and no one wanted (and the stuff was cheap, btw). IDK. |

I still await an email with further information on the items you got. If you want to sell, a good idea is not to let potential buyers wait.

I attempted to get to all of the stuff this weekend, but it didn't happen. All of my USSR stuff is in boxes in the closet or basement and it's quite the job to get to it.
