Commitment Medal.

Here is the Commitment Medal of the Republic Of Iraq. Originally founded on 11th June 2011 to honour the Joint Commitment of the multinational force in Iraq between 19th March 2003 and 31st December 2011. Unfortunately due to international bureaucratic issues to date only one has been awarded (to Vice President Joe Biden on 1st December 2011). Iraq intended for each nation to produce and issue their own supply of these Medals, although the United States Department Of Defense has issued a statement indicating that they are awaiting a supply of awards from Iraq. Never the less a small "test" batch has been minted in the United States.

It is very likely that this award will end up going the same way as the Afghani http://soviet-awards.com/forum/sovie...dom-medal.html

Unfortunately it doesn't photograph very well as it is so shiny.

Re: Republic Of Iraq Commitment Medal.

Here is the original letter from the Iraqi Minister Of Defence to the United States Secretary Of Defense and a draft of the design (the spacing of the test seems to be better here).
