An NKVD Major with the 6th Armenian NKVD Border Guards District in July 1941 (likely unit commander).
Deputy of the Armenian Communist Party's Central Committee in December 1941. Awarded NKVD Distinguished Employee badge by NKGB decree on 17 March 1945. The "egg" actually issued from MVD of the USSR, though the entry says he was awarded it on 17 March 1945 for “successful fulfilment of assignments” but it was actually ISSUED to him 28 February 1959 by the Deputy Minister of the MVD of the USSR. |

(Slightly out of order. Sorry.) |

Re: Lt-Colonel Mikhail Avetikovich Karapetyan, KGB
Would this be a partial group as there is no "victory" medal (Military or Labour)? I put Karapetjan in the Russian site and there are 13 pages of them even a few Mihails but this chap is missing. Not too surprising that the man from CHEKA didn't turn up on the site though even if he did get awarded any state awards during 41-45.

Re: Lt-Colonel Mikhail Avetikovich Karapetyan, KGB
Oh, this is very, very broken. Other than the "egg" and the weapon plate, there are no awards. If there were, you'd have seen them. And from his pictures, he clearly has medals/ribbons, so I assume the other items are scattered to the four winds. All too common?
And, as KGB, research chances are poor at best. |

Re: Lt-Colonel Mikhail Avetikovich Karapetyan, KGB
That's a shame but even having parts in a collection is considerably better than nothing at all...
Wonder if any info will pop uon the site before it ceases adding new information.
