Mystery M1943 Generals boards....
I have been dealing with WWII Soviet generals for about 7 years in and have pretty much had at least one of everything in at one time or another. But I have never had these boards on a uniform, and only had these boards in once, loose.
They are both issued at one time, with wear marks. One set is deep grey, the other jet black. They have not been recolored as far as I can tell. I have no real guess....the main guess i get is diplomatic, but they are not that; those boards were unique to the diplo corps. Any ideas? DD |

What about admirals of the river fleet or fishing fleet. Or maybe some "general" of an industry - like coal mining.

Your guess is as good as mine, but usually gold boards would indicate a combat branch.
