Abuashvili, Artem Mihajlovich, Locomotive Engineer, Head Repair-Restoration Train #24
Here is a small group to Railway Worker Artem Mihajlovich Abuashvili covering 1944-1978. A nice example of a non-military serviceman of the Great Patriotic War.

His first award is a Badge ''Shock-Worker Of The Stalinist Campaign'' of the People's Commissariat For Lines Of Communication awarded on 6th February 1944.

His award book lists his position as "Assistant Machinist" (Assistant "Train Driver").

His second award is a Ministry Of Lines Of Communication Badge ''Excellent Locomotive Worker'' awarded 20th January 1946.
This is a Type 1 Variation 1 of the Badge. Made before the NarKom became a Ministry (and just using up old stock).

His booklet states his position as "Locomotive Machinist" (Train Driver) GOREM-24 (Head Repair-Restoration Train #24). Unfortunately I can not find out any information at all on the works carried out by GOREM-24. GOREM-20 however has a more accessible story which illustrates the type of work carried out by such a unit.
1946-07-02 Medal ''For Valiant Labour During The Great Patriotic War 1941-1945'' П№366443 was awarded by a Local Georgian SSR Regional Committee but the stamp is too worn to tell which.

His second Badge ''Excellent Locomotive Worker'' was awarded 30th November 1948 and is a Variation 1 of the Ministry produced Type.

His booklet gives his position as "Locomotive Machinist" (Train Driver) of Construction Train #153. If anyone knows any additional information on this train post away.
Finally he was awarded the Medal "Veteran Of Labour by the Georgian SSR on 6th July 1978.
