pullover

I saw this M1935 pullover on E; I am not at all happy with the way the collar tabs are put on; notice the yellow piping and how it is wavy. this is simply not how it should look. it does not appear to have been put on during the correct era.

I saw this also...

The tabs are in my opinion are repros, perhaps made for theatre use or just for simple replacement by some collector. I believe, and are almost certain, that these should have metallic edgings. The senior commander's pips, as well as the rifles insignia, being screwback, are a plus also, to me, as long as the pips are magnetic.

I looked closely at the shots of the cuff area where the chevrons once were (as "regulation" required removal of such as per orders of summer 1941 I have read); The running of the red color is odd, but the nap wear that the close image provides is a good sign also.

If this piece was $100.00 USD or so to start, I'd take a chance on it myself. But for $250.00, it is not worth it (to me anyway).

A lot of former Russian theatre stuff used a lot of authentic insignia & cloth, and theatre tailor shops made stuff to boot. So, a lot of it being forty-fifty-plus years old already, in 2007, it ALL has nap wear also...

However, being E___, where it is most likely that little to NO ONE knows the true provenance and history of a Soviet piece; It may just go at that starting price plus, to someone who is willing to take a $250.00 gamble.
